Trees will receive passports in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan will introduce passports for trees.

The decree on certification of trees in Tashkent was signed by President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the National News Agency of Uzbekistan reports.

The initiative will be implemented in pilot mode as part of the nationwide Yashil Makon project.

Certification of trees in the Uzbek capital will take place in three stages. The first stage includes a complete inventory of existing trees, with the exception of trees on the territory of individual housing. This stage will be completed by March 1, 2024.

During the second stage, a database will be created that includes the type, age, height, condition and coordinates of location of trees identified as a result of the inventory. The second stage will be completed by November 2024.

At the final third stage of the project, which will last until December 31, 2024, the electronic platform “Yashil Makon” will be created based on the passport database of each tree and an ID number will be assigned.

In the future, certification of trees will be carried out in other regions of the republic.
