The first meeting of members of the Turkmen-Kazakh working commission on transport and transit transportation and logistics will take place in Ashgabat on November 26, World Sustainable Transport Day.
The agenda of the commission meeting was reported at a government meeting on Friday by Director General of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mammetkhan Chakyev.
In particular, the program of the first round of negotiations in the format of this bilateral working commission includes a discussion of the issues of effective use of the infrastructure of national transport and transit corridors, coordination and implementation of joint projects in this area, development of logistics centers, ensuring transportation safety, as well as pricing policy.
Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are aimed at implementing mutually beneficial projects in the field of railway, road and water transport. Thus, the Turkmen side began construction of the Turkmenbashi – Garabogaz – Kazakhstan border highway (225 km) and a new bridge across the Garabogazgol Bay.
An Agreement on cooperation in the field of facilitating the organization of linear and container traffic between the Aktau and Turkmenbashi international seaports, a Memorandum of cooperation in international multimodal freight transport between KTZ Express and the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan, an Agreement on cooperation in the field of maritime transport between JSC "Maritime Trade Fleet" of Turkmenistan and "Port Kuryk" LLP were signed.
