Opening ceremony of the III Turkic World Film Festival "Korkut Ata" was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku on Sunday, October 8.
At the opening ceremony, the importance of this creative project uniting the Turkic world on the basis of cinematography and cultural traditions of its peoples was emphasized.
The festival presents 32 feature, documentary and animation films produced by Azerbaijan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Gagauzia (Moldova), Tatarstan, Sakha-Yakutia, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chuvashia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Tuva and Bashkortostan (Russian Federation). The films will be shown at the Nizami Cinema Center from October 9 to 11.

Screenings of Turkmen films will be held on Monday and Tuesday, and on Wednesday evening the festival awards presentation will take place.
Organized since 2021, the festival was first held in Turkey's Istanbul, and in 2022 - in the city of Bursa of the brotherly country. This year, the III Turkic World Film Festival "Korkut Ata" is hosted by Azerbaijan within the framework of the program "Shusha - Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2023" and passes the festival baton to Turkmenistan along with the title of the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World, which in 2024 will be the city of Anau.
