 Turkmen cinematographers will become participants of the Gorkut Ata festival in the city of Shusha

The International Festival of Culture and Art "Gorkut Ata" and a film forum with the participation of cinematographers from Central Asia and TURKSOY will be held in the Azerbaijani city of Shusha. From October 8 to 12, Shusha – the cultural capital of the Turkic world-2023 will turn into a creative platform and a large cinema hall, where film producers from around the world will show their best pictures.

The Oguzhan Turkmenfilm Film Studio will also present its works in the competition program of the film forum, director Sahysalih Bayramov, who will become a participant of the prestigious festival, told Orient.

In the feature film category, a feature film directed by Hekim Alovov "Gyzyl Alma" ("Red Apple") will "compete" for the award. In the documentary category – "Children of the sun and water" . Bekdurdy Amansaryev is the director and script writer of a documentary dedicated to the topic of ecology and traditions of water use. By the way, he also wrote the music for this film.

Two more films of Turkmen cinematographers will be shown out of competition – this is the feature film "Daragt" ("Tree") directed by Sahysalih Bayramov and the animated film "The Lost Ball" by Rovshen Veliyev.

Within the framework of the festival, which will last until October 12, exhibitions, concerts, tasting of dishes of the Turkic peoples,

demonstration of folk games, scientific conferences and poetry evenings will traditionally be held.

The International Festival of Culture and Art "Gorkut Ata" has been held since 1994. In 2018, the Gorkut Ata heritage was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
