Uzbekistan has issued a postage stamp dedicated to the Azerbaijani city of Shusha
19.09.2023 | 19:17 |A postage stamp titled "The ancient city of Shusha in Azerbaijan - the cultural capital of the Turkic world" was issued in Uzbekistan. It will be sent to the museums of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, as well as to representatives of the state and government of the two republics. The stamp presentation ceremonies will be held in Tashkent and Baku, the press service of the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center reports.
The stamp depicts the Shusha fortress, the flag of Azerbaijan, the picturesque nature of Shusha - majestic mountains shrouded in fog, world-famous poets, musicians, celebrities who brought prestige and fame to the province and the city, national musical instruments, as well as the official image of the flower "haribulbul", which is a symbol of Karabakh and Shusha.
The city has more than 2000 years of history and is the center of culture and education in the region, the birthplace of Azerbaijani classical music and opera, and is also famous for its literary tradition. In 2023, Shusha was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world.
The Uzbek Central Post Office plans to put the stamp into domestic and international circulation.
