Caspian Media Forum to be held in Astrakhan on September 20
13.07.2023 | 02:10 |The Caspian Media Forum in Astrakhan has become a creative platform for journalists, where media specialists from different countries annually gather. This year the event will take place on September 20. The topic of the meeting is public diplomacy and social media as factors for bringing nations together. This was announced by governor of the Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin, TASS reports.
The idea of the forum was born in 2014 at the summit of the "five" countries of the Caspian Sea - Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan. The first media forum was held in Astrakhan in 2015. During the event in the Astrakhan region, the Caspian edition and the Caspian expert club were created. In addition, exchanges of information are regularly carried out. In 2022, more than 500 media specialists from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan took part in the forum.
Traditionally, within the framework of the forum, the ceremony of awarding the winners and prize-winners of the competition for the best journalistic work "Caspian without borders" will be held. In 2022, special correspondent of the ORIENT website - Leonid Kiyashko won in the nomination "Man and the Sea".
