The picture of the Turkmen director Sahysalyh Bayramov "Gyzyl Kurte" was among the nominees for the "Best Film of Central Asia" award of the national film Award of Kyrgyzstan "Ak ilbirs" ("White Leopard"), AKIrgess reports.
Two more films will also "compete" for the main award of the Central Asian Academy of Cinematographic Arts "Ak ilbirs" - "Akyn", directed by Darezhan Omirbayev from Kazakhstan and "Evolution" by Uzbek film director Elkin Tuichiev.
The winners will be announced on July 8 at the film award ceremony.
The film "Gyzyl Kurte" by the Turkmenfilm studio named after Oguz Khan was released on the wide screen in 2022. The picture is based on real events and tells about the events of the Great Patriotic War and the patriotism of Turkmen women.
