 Pakistan and Turkmenistan signed a joint plan for accelerated implementation of TAPI

Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday, June 8, received a delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of State – Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengaz" Maksat Babayev.

During the meeting, the Turkmen side informed the Prime Minister about the implementation of large-scale joint projects between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.

The Prime Minister confirmed the support of the Government of Pakistan for the speedy completion of the TAPI gas pipeline and TAP power transmission line projects, which will play an important role in meeting the country's energy needs, according to a press release from the Turkmen Embassy in Islamabad.

After the meeting, the delegation of Turkmenistan and Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif took part in the signing ceremony of the Joint Plan for the Accelerated Implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project, which was held at the residence of the Prime Minister.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Prime Minister noted that TAPI is a very important project for ensuring prosperity in the region and it will mark a new era of regional cooperation. "We will make every effort to accelerate the implementation of TAPI," Sharif said.

The signing of this Joint Plan is an important step towards the implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline, a project of historical significance for each participating country and the region as a whole.
