The meeting on the preparation of the Framework Program for Turkmenistan was held with the participation of representatives of the country's foreign policy corps and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Ashgabat, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
The Framework program for the country is a mechanism of cooperation agreed by the IAEA and the Government in the field of technical cooperation for a specific period of time.
During the meeting, the Turkmen side, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mahri Byashimova, voiced the position of the official Ashgabat, according to which the country, when developing the document, will be mainly guided by the National Program of Socio-economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052.
Among them are medicine, rational management of water resources, food security, agriculture, environmental protection, safe management of radiation materials and equipment and the development of a legal framework.
Priority vectors of partnership between Turkmenistan and the IAEA, which are fixed in the preliminary draft of the document under consideration, were also touched upon.
