New automotive oils for Gazpromneft — lubricants are now being invented by artificial intelligence.

The Alchemist digital system for creating multicomponent formulations of motor oils can significantly reduce the time from the development of a new product to its launch into industrial production from six months to 1-2 months.

To obtain a new formulation of engine oil, the user enters into the system the basic parameters of the material, such as viscosity, density, base number, etc. The features of the automotive equipment on which these lubricants will be used are also indicated.

After that, using a machine learning algorithm, the Alchemist digital platform compares a set of necessary characteristics with the existing research base. Thus, the system automatically produces the most effective combinations of the base lubricants, which are subsequently tested by specialists both in laboratory and real conditions.

It should be noted that this technological development has already made it possible to improve over 200 formulations of motor, transmission and hydraulic oils.
