Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the implementation of the Great Istanbul Tunnel project, Anadolu agency reports.

It will become the third tunnel after the Marmaray and the Eurasian Tunnel, which will pass under the Bosphorus Strait.

The Great Istanbul Tunnel will connect 11 different railway lines of the metropolis. 6.5 million people will use it annually.
