Avtovaz plans to organize the assembly of an updated version of the Lada Vesta car in Uzbekistan. President of the Russian company Maxim Sokolov said about this at the International Industrial Exhibition “Innoprom. Central Asia,” Uzbek press reports.
“Already now we are considering joint plans to restore the assembly of our cars. Moreover, it will be the flagship model - the new generation of Lada Vesta,” he said.
In the future, the company intends to deepen the degree of localization of car assembly in Uzbekistan. It's about welding and painting. The parties have begun negotiations on this topic, Sokolov explained.
Serial assembly of Lada cars in Uzbekistan began in 2021. It was organized at the ADM Jizzakh automobile plant, located in the Jizzakh free economic zone. According to experts, until 2023, about 5,000 of different Lada models were sold annually in the country.
