Oriented on making people closer

Bouygues Turkmen company intends to regularly hold environmental events for children in Ashgabat at its new Carbon Training Center, representatives of the company told ORIENT.

These events are designed to introduce students to important facts about ecology, help them understand the causes of climate change and tell in a fascinating way how everyone can make a personal contribution to solving environmental problems.

The first eco-event at the Carbon Training Center was held on February 25. It was attended by students of the 5th "B" class of the Joint Turkmen-Russian School named after A.S. Pushkin.

The moderators held an exciting training game for children called "Climate Fresco" so that schoolchildren could get acquainted with a lot of facts about ecology, understand the causes of climate change and learn about how everyone can contribute to solving environmental problems.

Eco-volunteer Galina Dobrova and young SDG Ambassador Gulshat Aidova told the students about the importance of waste recycling and held a training game on garbage sorting.

The head of the Bouygues Turkmen Carbon Footprint Reduction Committee, Mamed Fataliev, and the head of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, Elena Spiridonova, presented a presentation on the harm that used batteries cause to the environment. The goal was to talk about the proper disposal of batteries, as well as to encourage the transition to rechargeable batteries, which are considered more environmentally friendly.

The young guests took a responsible approach to the issue of plastic recycling and participated in the recycling of plastic garbage — they brought plastic items from home that are usually thrown into household garbage, and received reusable fabric bags that will help reduce the number of plastic bags used when going to shops.

The children were impressed by the knowledge received from the organizers and invited experts, enjoyed participating in interactive games and watching a selection of cartoons about ecology.

The next eco-events with the participation of children should take place in Bouygues Turkmen on March 3, 4 and 11.

To take care of the environment, the French industrial group Bouygues has committed itself to reducing its carbon footprint and adopted a Climate Strategy, according to which it should reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030.
