 Presidents of Turkmenistan and Belarus discussed key issues of an interstate dialogue

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to attend a session of the Council of the CIS Heads of State, met in Ashgabat.

The Presidents of two countries pointed out the progressive dynamics of many years long cooperation, developing successfully both in bilateral and multilateral formats. Alexander Lukashenko confirmed the focus the Republic of Belarus on broad cooperation with Turkmenistan.

The heads of Turkmen and Belarus states discussed the current state and basic areas of Turkmen-Belarus relations, a collaboration potential in the trade and economic sectors, and opportunities for expanding and diversifying long-term partnership.

Berdimuhamedov and Lukashenko specified good prospects for cooperation in the fields of sports and tourism, and emphasized the importance of a dialogue in the humanitarian field.
