On January 12, the Asian Football Confederation held the draw for the first round of the women's qualification tournament for the 2024 Olympic Games for the Asian continent.

According to the results of the draw, the women's national team of Turkmenistan was in group "G". The opponents of Kamil Mingazov's team will be India and Kyrgyzstan.

The head coach of the national team Kamil Mingazov shared with ORIENT a forecast about the chances of Turkmenistan in the upcoming tournament.

― The odds are equal. India is the favorite of our group, but we will fight to get out of the group," the specialist said.

At the moment, in preparation for the future championships, a training camp is being held in Ashgabat with the participation of girls under 17 and under 20 years old

At the beginning of 2023, the Football Federation of Turkmenistan announced the extension of the contract with the head coach of the women's national team Kamil Mingazov.
