Oriented on making people closer

The Republican Turkmen Cultural Center in Tashkent is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a series of events, in which a delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for UNESCO Chinar Rustamova arrived in Uzbekistan to participate.

During the visit, which will last until November 3, 2022, members of the Turkmen delegation and representatives of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendship Relations with Foreign Countries at the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to the Shomakhmudov family, who sheltered 15 orphans of different nationalities during the Second World War.

After that, an international scientific and practical conference was organized at the Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature on the topic "The role of Makhtumkuli's creativity in strengthening the friendship of the Uzbek and Urkmen peoples," reports nuz.uz .

Azamat Toshev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries, Yazguly Mammadov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan and Chinar Rustamova delivered congratulatory speeches at the conference.

There was also a meeting of the Turkmen delegation in the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries, whose chairman – Rustambek Kurbanov informed the guests about the activities of the Committee.

It was noted that there are 44 Turkmen-speaking schools in Uzbekistan, 15 of which teach in mixed languages. The Faculty of "Turkmen Philology" was established at the Nukus State University of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and the Nukus Pedagogical Institute named after him.Azhiniyaz has opened a faculty for training teachers for primary classes in the Turkmen language.

The Turkmen National Cultural Center of the Republic of Karakalpakstan publishes the monthly newspaper "Mekan" in the Turkmen language, and the musical and dance ensemble "Orzu" transmits the ethnographic features of the art of the Turkmen people from generation to generation.

Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Chinar Rustamova highly appreciated the state policy in Uzbekistan in the field of interethnic relations.

She stressed that cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including culture, is developing dynamically and people's diplomacy is of great importance in this.

On Wednesday, November 2, the Palace of Arts "Turkestan" hosted a gala concert dedicated to the anniversary of the Republican Turkmen Cultural Center.
