
The ceremony of awarding the state award of Turkmenistan – the "Galkynysh" order ("Rebirth") – to Uzbek diplomats took place on Friday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after the completion of the round of Turkmen-Uzbek political consultations.
According to the decree of the President of Turkmenistan, the "Galkynysh" order was awarded to the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is also the special representative of the Head of the Republic of Uzbekistan on foreign policy issues. And before that, in 1994-2003 and 2012-2022, he worked as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, and in this post he made a huge contribution to the development of the Turkmen-Uzbek partnership.

The "Galkynysh" order was also awarded to the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov.

Thus, the Turkmen side noted the important contribution of Uzbek partners to building up bilateral cooperation, strengthening traditionally good-neighborly relations.
Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov was awarded the Order "Dustlik" - the state award of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The decree on awarding the "Dustlik" ("Friendship") order was signed by the President of Uzbekistan back in August 2021, and today there was an opportunity to hold a solemn presentation of this award for the achievements in strengthening friendship, brotherhood, and mutual consent between representatives of the two peoples, contribution to the development of interstate cooperation.
