Oriented on making people closer

The mayor's office of the Akhal region of Turkmenistan will conclude a contract with a private company for the design and construction of a monument with a statue of the famous Akhal-Teke horse Akhan, the official Turkmen press writes today.

Akhan became famous for entering the Guinness Book of Records in 2018 by walking 10 meters on his hind legs in just 4.19 seconds. In 2017, he also participated in the opening ceremony of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games - then the rider on the horse Akhan lit the fire of the 2017 Asian Games.

The individual enterprise "Sport Yildyzy" will design and build the monument, which previously erected the "Bicycle" monument, the "Jahan" creative center and other objects in Ashgabat.

Construction of the monument is due to begin in May and be completed in December 2022.
