 Voters in the regions of Turkmenistan meet with presidential candidates

Candidates for the presidency of Turkmenistan continue to meet with voters in the regions of the country. On Monday, another such meeting was held by Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov, nominated by the Democratic Party for the highest state post. It was held in the city of Turkmenbashi.

Speaking to representatives of the electorate of the Primorye Territory, the Deputy Prime Minister focused their attention on such priorities of his election platform as the implementation of the socio-economic development program of Turkmenistan for the next 30 years, stimulating the growth of key industries, the systemic basis of housing construction, and modernizing industrial and social infrastructure.

Among the main goals is also the course towards the full-scale development of oil and gas fields, both on land and on the Caspian shelf, an increase in the production and processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, diversification of the export of natural gas and electricity.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov also highlighted the formation of a multimodal transport network in the country as an important link in international transit traffic, including an increase in the role of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway and the seaport of Turkmenbashi in the regional and continental connectivity.

He also presented a vision for the further development of the agro-industrial complex and the private sector, saying that the state will support business through concessional lending to promising production projects.

Answering the questions of the meeting participants regarding specifically the Balkan region, the Deputy Prime Minister spoke about plans for the development of the Avaza resort as a point of growth of the socio-economic and tourism potential of the region, the development of territories in the periphery of the Altyn Asyr Turkmen Lake, which is a grandiose eco-project with long-term multi-economic effect.

Also on Monday, February 28, in the city of Anau, Akhal region, a meeting of voters was held with a candidate from the Ashgabat initiative group of citizens - Vice-Rector of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports Khydyr Nunnaev.

Speaking to local residents, the candidate for the highest state position assured that he intends to direct his efforts to continue the reforms initiated by the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which are aimed at bringing Turkmenistan into the ranks of developed states.

In this context, he noted the importance of introducing innovations, high-tech and environmentally friendly mechanisms, expanding the diversity of the economy, developing forms of ownership and the labor market. In a conversation with voters, the issues of education systems, science and health care, culture and sports were also discussed.

On the same day, a meeting was held in Anau with the candidate for the presidency of Turkmenistan from the initiative group of citizens of the Akhal region, the head of the sanitary and epidemiological service of the Babadaikhan district, Maksatmyrat Ovezgeldiyev.

He also stated that his election program is built on the continuation of the course of the President of Turkmenistan in foreign and domestic policy, including diversification of the national economic complex, improvement of social and living conditions for residents of cities and rural areas.

In Turkmenabat, a meeting of voters with the director of the financial and economic secondary vocational school of the Lebap region Perkhat Begendzhov, who is running from an initiative group of citizens of this region, was held.

This candidate also spoke for the continuation of the peacekeeping foreign strategy of Turkmenistan and the implementation of the initiated and new adopted national programs.

He called ensuring a high standard of living for the population, modernization of the economy, innovative development of the fuel and energy complex, and increasing the role of the business community in the transformation processes as fundamental priorities.

Also, representatives of the electorate of the Lebap region had the opportunity to listen to the candidate from the initiative group of citizens of the Mary region - the director of the research and production center "Renewable Energy Sources" of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan Kakageldi Sariyev.

In his speech to voters, he dwelled on the energy industry in more detail, but also covered all other areas of the country's development, emphasizing that support for education, science, culture, healthcare, and sports will always be a priority.
