On Thursday, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov got acquainted with the urban development works in the capital and, in particular, plans to modernize the center of Ashgabat, where the former government tribune and the famous building of the children's library are located.

Proposals for the reconstruction of this historical core of the city directly at this place were voiced by the General Director of the Bouygues Turkmen company Alexei Reshov. He presented sketches for updating the appearance of objects, including the old tribune and the State Library named after B. Amanov, redesigning the territories adjacent to them.

Berdimuhamedov spoke in favor of transforming the former government podium into a business meeting center with conditions for negotiations, presentations, and other business events.

At the same time, the president pointed out the importance of an organic combination of the results of modernization with the original architectural style that has developed in this place.
