Representative of the Turkmengaz State Concern on the Board of Directors of TAPI Pipeline Company Ltd. Mukhammetmyrat Amanov and Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Khoja Ovezov met in Kabul with the Deputy Secretary of the IRA Security Council Ebadullah Ibad. The parties discussed ongoing work on the TAPI gas pipeline construction project and preparation of measures to be carried out at the end of August 2021 on behalf of the heads of the two states, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports. The meeting was concluded by the signing of the Security Concept for the Afghan section of the TAPI gas pipeline. The head of the Afghan delegation noted that this document is an important step in timely implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project, including the development of a Security Plan and Protocol, which are annexes to the Host Government Agreement (HGA). Ebadullah Ibad also stressed that TAPI is an important project in Afghanistan that promotes regional security and integration policies in the common interest, Afghan media reported. Afghan officials say construction of the Afghan section will begin this year and will provide jobs for tens of thousands of people in the country.
