The heads of the regions of Turkmenistan - Akhal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary regions reported on Thursday to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the fulfillment of the task on collection of the cotton harvest.
Over 1 million 250 thousand tons of raw cotton have been delivered to the procurement centers of the country by this day since the beginning of the white harvest collection campaign. Collection of all the cotton grown by the labor of the villagers is under way.
The colorful ceremony of the report was shown on the evening news bulletin of Turkmen television. Traditionally, children from each region perform at this ceremony. They read poems to the glory of the farmers and the Motherland. The President presented gifts to the children and took pictures with them.
In his speech, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov named the best by indicators cotton-picking regions. Among them are Geokdepe, Bakherden and Ak bugday in Akhal, Makhtumkuli, Bereket and Esenguly in Balkan, named after S.A. Niyazov, Gubadag and Akdepe in Dashoguz. Chardzhev, Darganata and Sayat districts distinguished themselves in Lebap, and Takhtabazar, Bayramali and Vekilbazar districts in Mary region.
The head of state stressed that the country creates all conditions for productive labor of villagers, including the provision of modernized equipment, fertilizers, irrigation water and other resources.
The President expressed gratitude to cotton growers and all field workers, agricultural workers for their diligence and care, for high results. And the generous harvest of the native land is the wealth of the Motherland and the prosperity of the people, Berdimuhamedov said.
