The athlete from Turkmenistan Bektimur Reyimov won a bronze medal in the weight category of 67 kg in the world weightlifting junior championship in these days in Las Vegas, United States.
Turkmenistan in the championship is represented by four athletes who were selected based on the results of the youth championship of the country, which regularly opens new names for worthy athletes.
In total, Reyimov raised 269 kg, remaining a step away from the "silver", as he lost to his rival from Georgia Gurami Giorbelidze by only one kilogram. The Turkmen citizen won a small silver award in the “jerk” discipline, having mastered 122 kg. In a push, he lifted 147 kg.
Saikhan Taisuev, a weight lifter from Kazakhstan, became the absolute world champion and record holder in the weight category of 67 kg.
World Youth Weightlifting Championships in Las Vegas will end on March 15th. The championship brought together over 180 young weightlifters from around the world, performing in 10 weight categories.
