President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced his readiness for constructive work with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, speaking at the 21st SCO Summit in Dushanbe as a guest of honor.
As part of its neutral status, Turkmenistan is ready for active interaction with the SCO in solving the most important tasks of our time, primarily in the fight against terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking, as well as cooperation in the field of information and biological security, the Turkmen leader said.
Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the establishment of multifaceted, systematic and purposeful cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization can give a new powerful impetus for development, will contribute to the dynamic and high-quality course of political, economic, social and humanitarian processes throughout Eurasia.
Over the past 20 years, the SCO has become a large and authoritative interstate association, which has received well-deserved recognition and respect in the world, exerting a powerful constructive impact on the course of global political and economic development.
President Berdimuhamedov said that Turkmenistan highly values cooperation with the SCO and is convinced that this interaction is promising for the accelerated development of the Central Asian region, turning it into an important transport, logistics and economic center of continental importance and a strong link in the stability of partnership in Eurasia.
