Humanitarian aid from Turkmenistan arrived in the city of Mashhad in the north-east of Iran in connection with the strongest earthquake of 7.4 magnitude by Richter scale, the epicenter of which was Sarpol-e-Zahab in the province of Kermanshah.
The humanitarian convoy was sent by order of President Berdymukhamedov on behalf of the government and people of Turkmenistan,
"This step is dictated by the high humanistic principles of the ancestors of the Turkmen people, as well as by friendly, fraternal and good-neighborly relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran," TDH state news agency said referring to the text of the Turkmen leader's order.
The humanitarian cargo included medicines worth 280,000 manat, donated by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan.
At such a difficult time for Iran, the help of the fraternal people is a significant contribution to the strengthening of friendship between the countries, noted the participants of the ceremony of the transfer of humanitarian aid, including the director of the crisis operations of the Khorasan governorate Razvai Ahmad Sahebnasag, the administration of the pharmacy department of the Medhoney University of Mashhad and representatives of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
