On June 3, the Consulate General of Turkmenistan, together with the Herat Provincial Department of Sports and Physical Education, organized a mass bicycle ride to celebrate World Bicycle Day. The event was held under the slogan «Independent neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses» along the route of the Serhetabat–Herat gas pipeline, which forms part of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) project and is associated with the initiative known as «Arkadagyň ak ýoly».

The sporting event brought together cyclists from Herat Province, representatives of local government authorities, staff of foreign diplomatic missions based in Herat, and members of the Turkmen diaspora.

Commemorative gifts prepared by the Consulate General of Turkmenistan were presented to all participants of the bicycle ride.
