Media Center Opens in Shanghai Ahead of Ninth China International Import Expo

Major international exhibitions are becoming not only platforms for trade and investment but also important centers for information exchange. Modern digital technologies are helping journalists cover events more efficiently while providing international audiences with reliable information about new products and business initiatives.
The Media Center for the ninth China International Import Expo, or CIIE, officially began operations in Shanghai on November 3, two days before the opening of one of the world's largest trade exhibitions.
The expo will take place from November 5 to 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
More than 4,300 journalists from China and abroad have registered to cover the event. The media center held its first press briefing on the morning of its opening.
Around ten press conferences are scheduled during the expo, covering achievements, procurement agreement signings and new product launches.
The center will also organize nearly 20 “CEO Face-to-Face” sessions, allowing journalists to interview senior executives from international companies.
So far, 15 companies from eight countries, including the United States and Germany, have confirmed their participation.
One of the distinctive features of the media center is the introduction of intelligent robot assistants. Five robots will help journalists with interview reservations, work arrangements and access to relevant information.
These robot volunteers will provide convenient, one-stop assistance for a range of media-related inquiries.
In addition to professional facilities, the center offers opportunities to explore Chinese culture. Journalists can discover elements of China's intangible cultural heritage and visit the “Good Goods Fair,” featuring cultural and creative products with distinctive Shanghai characteristics.
The combination of digital services, international business communication and cultural activities reflects the global significance of the upcoming exhibition.
As reported by SSTV+, the Media Center for the ninth China International Import Expo has opened in Shanghai, providing services for more than 4,300 registered journalists and introducing digital assistance, including intelligent robots.
