Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in Dushanbe on Sunday for an official visit to Tajikistan and to attend the 25th meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.

The visit comes at the invitation of Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda, who welcomed Li at Dushanbe International Airport together with other senior government officials.

Li said China and Tajikistan are good neighbors, friends and partners, noting that bilateral relations have developed rapidly in recent years.

He said cooperation across various fields has produced tangible results and recalled that the leaders of China and Tajikistan met in Beijing in May to outline the future development of bilateral ties.

China is ready to work with Tajikistan to carry forward traditional friendship, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and promote the development and prosperity of both countries, Li said.

China also hopes to work with other SCO members to implement the outcomes of the Bishkek summit and achieve new progress in regional cooperation.

According to CCTV+, Li arrived in Dushanbe after concluding his official visit to Uzbekistan.
