On Thursday, the 2026 China Culture and Tourism Industry Expo opened in Tianjin, northern China, attracting more than 2,500 cultural and tourism enterprises from 20 countries and regions. The four‑day event, organised by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, also drew 10 international organisations and national industry associations.

When culture and tourism converge on one exhibition platform, they cease to be mere industries — they become bridges between peoples. Tianjin, an old port city with a rich history and modern dynamism, once again welcomes guests from around the world to show how tradition can coexist with digital technology, and how travel can become smarter and more meaningful. This year's expo is not just a showcase of achievements but a space for dialogue, where new ideas and partnerships are born that can transform the tourism industry for years to come.

Under the theme "Deepening the Integration of Culture and Tourism, Creating a Better Smart Life", the expo features 10 exhibition zones dedicated to culture‑tourism integration, new digital enterprises, tourism equipment, international cooperation, local attractions and consumer goods. Eighteen professional events were held on regional cooperation, industrial innovation, technology application and cultural tourism consumption. This year's expo will run until 6 September.

Tianjin, one of China's largest port cities, has long been an important centre for cultural exchange and tourism. Its architectural heritage, combining Eastern and Western traditions, attracts millions of visitors. The Culture and Tourism Expo, held in the city for several years, has become a key platform for presenting new tourism products, digital solutions and international projects. The participation of 20 countries and 2,500 enterprises reflects growing interest in the Chinese market and a desire for cooperation in cultural tourism.

As CCTV+ reports, the Tianjin Culture and Tourism Expo once again confirms China's status as a global leader in tourism development. The integration of digital technologies, international cooperation and a focus on quality leisure are becoming key trends. In the coming years, such events will only gain momentum, opening new horizons for travellers and businesses.
