Xi Jinping: China is ready to deepen its comprehensive strategic partnership with Egypt
The history of China and Egypt demonstrates how relations between two ancient civilizations can become stronger when respect for the past is combined with a shared vision for the future. Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China is ready to deepen its comprehensive strategic partnership with Egypt. He made the statement in an article titled “In Celebration of 70 Years of Solidarity, China and Egypt Embark on a New Journey,” published by the Egyptian media outlets Al-Ahram, Al-Akhbar and Al-Gomhuria ahead of his state visit to Egypt.
Xi Jinping noted that over 70 years of diplomatic relations, China and Egypt have faced various historical challenges while maintaining strong friendship and mutual support. He emphasized that the two countries have consistently supported each other on issues related to national development and major international matters.
The Chinese president placed particular emphasis on economic cooperation. Egypt is one of China’s main trade and investment partners in the Arab world and Africa, and was also among the first countries to participate in the Belt and Road Initiative. According to Xi Jinping, joint projects have already helped attract investment, create jobs and accelerate Egypt’s modernization.
The article also highlights the development of people-to-people and cultural exchanges. Egypt was the first Arab and African country to sign a cultural cooperation agreement with the People’s Republic of China.
