Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah in Beijing on Friday.

The leaders of the two countries jointly announced the elevation of bilateral ties to a China-Namibia community with a shared future for the new era.

Xi said it is the opportune moment for both China and Namibia to deepen friendly cooperation.

"At present, the Communist Party of China is uniting and leading the Chinese people of all ethnic groups to comprehensively advance the great cause of building China into a strong country and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese modernization. The SWAPO Party of Namibia has enshrined the building of socialism with Namibian characteristics in its Party Constitution and is leading the Namibian people towards the goals of Vision 2030. It's opportune and promising to deepen friendly cooperation between China and Namibia. To this end, I would like to join Madam President in announcing the elevation of our bilateral relations to a China-Namibia community with a shared future in the new era," Xi said.
