Unique scenery formed on freezing Xingkai Lake

As temperatures continue to drop in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, the partly frozen surface of Xingkai Lake in Mishan City has formed various spectacular ice shapes, resembling "dragon scales."

The freezing of the Xingkai Lake has been proceeding slowly since the beginning of winter.

The vast lake surface, viewed from above, is covered by ice in various shapes and sizes.

Large swathes of ice break up and pile up, resembling layers of scales, driven by the wind, creating a breathtaking scene against the backdrop of the expansive landscape.
