Based on the Resolution of the UN General Assembly initiated by Turkmenistan, 2025 has been declared the "International Year of Peace and Trust" in Turkmenistan. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, which was held in Ashgabat on September 24.

By decree of the President of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Intergovernmental Coordination Council on Seed Production of the CIS Ivan Kuzmin was awarded the highest degree of distinction – the title “Hero of Turkmenistan” with the presentation of the gold medal “Altyn aý”.

Last month, Afghanistan marked the third anniversary of the new administration. Three years of governance is a significant period. However, the international community is still concerned about the situation in that country. Afghanistan is facing serious humanitarian, economic and political challenges that inevitably affect the situation in neighboring countries and the region as a whole.

From September 19 to 21, the Turkmen delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, Azat Atayev participated in the "Connect-2024" exhibition of the “Huawei” company held in Shanghai, PRC and visited the "Smart Education System" department. There, the possibilities of introducing advanced technologies for digitalization of education system of the country were discussed.

As part of the Huawei Connect 2024 international forum under the motto "Amplify Intelligence", Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Azat Atayev held a meeting with Huawei Vice President Liu Gui. The main focus was on strengthening cooperation in the implementation of digital technologies in the country's education system.

On September 20, Elista, the capital of the Republic of Kalmykia, Russian Federation, hosted an international scientific and practical conference "Symbols of Eternity: a Bridge of Friendship and Brotherhood between Kalmyks and Turkmens" dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great poet Magtymguly Fragi. The conference was held as part of the regional forum "Peoples Together Through the Centuries".

The 11th Peace Festival dedicated to International Day of Peace was held in Beijing Peace Park on September 20. The event, which has been celebrated annually since September 21, 2002, on the initiative of the UN, brought together many participants. The theme of the festival was defined by the slogan "Diversity and Dialogue: The Path to Achieving Global Peace and Development".

In Turkmenistan, 736 convicted citizens were pardoned in honor of Independence Day. They will be released from prison in accordance with the decree signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

On Friday, September 20, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in Minsk Nazarguly Shagulyev met with rector of the Belarusian State Medical University Sergei Rubnikovich.
