Yesterday, on September 27, the tallest buildings in Ankara — the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey building, as well as the capital’s main landmark, the Atakule Observation Tower—were illuminated in the colors of the State Flag of Turkmenistan in honor of the country’s 33rd Independence Anniversary.

On the evening of September 27, on the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, high-rise buildings on Novy Arbat in Moscow will be illuminated in the colors of the Turkmen national flag, the Turkmen embassy in the Russian Federation reported. In this way, the Russian capital welcomes the main national holiday of Turkmenistan.

On September 25, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belarus hosted a festive meeting with Turkmen students from higher educational institutions of Minsk. The ceremonial event was dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the Year of Magtymguly Fragi.

Today, 25 September, in the conference hall of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan, a solemn ceremony of handing over passports to persons granted citizenship of Turkmenistan and residence permits to foreign citizens residing in Turkmenistan took place.

By the decree of the President of Turkmenistan, the Concept for the development of the city of Arkadag for 2024-2052 has been approved.

Based on the Resolution of the UN General Assembly initiated by Turkmenistan, 2025 has been declared the "International Year of Peace and Trust" in Turkmenistan. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, which was held in Ashgabat on September 24.
