On Wednesday, 2 October, the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, in collaboration with the permanent missions of Central Asian countries, organized a parallel event on the topic “Human Rights and the Right to Development” within the framework of the 57th session of the UN Human Rights Council.

As part of her regional visit to Central Asia, Anjali Kaur, USAID’s Deputy Assistant Administrator (DAA) for the Bureau for Asia visited Turkmenistan to reinforce bilateral cooperation. DAA Kaur and Ambassador Rood engaged with key representatives from the Government of Turkmenistan, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Turkmengas and Turkmenoil

On 27 September, marking the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, residents and visitors of Moscow could observe festive illumination - high-rise buildings on Novy Arbat lit up in the colors of the national flag of Turkmenistan.

On September 27, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Brussels hosted a gala reception to mark the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. The event brought together a wide range of participants, including ambassadors from more than 20 countries, representatives of the diplomatic corps of Brussels, EU structures, the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as heads of think tanks, the business community, the media and cultural organizations.

On September 27, Tbilisi hosted the annual international forum on the occasion of World Tourism Day. Georgia hosted that UN forum for the first time.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Acting Secretary General of the OSCE, and Head of the Conflict Prevention Center, Catherine Fearon, discussed joint projects and programs. The Minister confirmed the previously proposed initiatives.

On September 28, during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov met with Jean-Pierre Lacroix, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations.
