President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed establishing a "CIS Plus" format, as reported by the TASS news agency.

On October 17-18, the 37th meeting of the Advisory Council on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Population of the CIS member states will be held at the Yyldyz Hotel in Ashgabat.

From 1 January, Tajikistan will chair all the highest bodies of the Commonwealth. The co-chairs of the CIS in 2025 will be the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan, as the future chair, for which consent has already been received from Ashgabat. This was announced by CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev following the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth, as reported by TASS.

On October 8, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, which took place in Moscow at the Grand Kremlin Palace, chaired by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

In honor of the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, a meeting with representatives of the Turkmen diaspora was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States. During the meeting, important directions of the country's development were discussed, reflected in the decisions taken at the recent meeting of the Halk Maslahaty.

The next meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council will be held on October 8 in Moscow. The heads of state will exchange views on cooperation within the CIS and decide on the chairmanship of the Commonwealth in 2025.

Today the European Union and Turkmenistan held a high-level event that launched the Coordination Platform of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor. The event brought together the European Union, representatives of the countries along the Trans Caspian Transport Corridor in Central Asia and the Southern Caucasus and Türkiye, as well as International Financing Institutions

A delegation of the European Union led by Commissioner for International Partnerships Jutta Urpilainen officially visited Turkmenistan on 3 October. The visit coincides with the High-Level Launch of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor Coordination Platform, which aims to strengthen connectivity by developing transport routes within Central Asia and the European Union

The possibility of opening a branch of Kent State University in Turkmenistan was discussed during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev and Rector of this American university Todd Deacon.
