The Balkan Specialized School of Arts organized a festival in honor of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly called “Fragi, you are the sage of the Universe!” The creative event starts on February 26 and will last the whole week - until March 3.

The delegation of the Getty American Museum (Los Angeles, California) is again in Ashgabat these days. The next visit was organized as part of the joint work with the State Museum of Turkmenistan on the conservation and restoration of a unique artifact – an image of the Buddha's head, a fragment of sculpture found in Ancient Merv and dated to the 5th century.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation Esen Aydogdiyev visited the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts - the venue of the Moscow International Art Festival "Sounds of Dutar" named after Nury Halmamedov. Turkmen musician Ilyas Rejepov, also known as Ilyas Pasha, became a guest of the “Songs from the Whole Heart” program on the Rossiya 1 TV channel. Andrei Malakhov invited him to his new Sunday show, where he talks with interesting, talented people about their lives, dreams and families, and between conversations they perform songs.

Turkmenistan's Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan Batyr Rejepov met on Friday with Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerbol Alikulov.

Magtymguly’s work is a bridge of friendship between the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples, and this was once again confirmed in the Writers’ Union of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where on Wednesday, Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Tashkent Shadurdy Meredov met with Chairman of the Union Sirojiddin Saidov. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

February 13 marks the 255th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Andreevich Krylov, writer, fabulist, playwright, translator, publisher of satirical magazines, author of opera librettos... But it was his fables that brought him great fame.

Turkmen film director Sahysalyh Bayramov, among the representatives of the film studios of the region, was invited as an honorary guest to the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival, which was held in Tehran from February 1 to 11. 621 works from 87 countries were submitted to the festival, 33 films by authors from 70 countries were shown in 10 days.

The opening of a monument to the Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi in the historical center of St. Petersburg will be one of the landmark events in the program of major international forums and festive events upcoming this year on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly.
