Cotton sowing started in Turkmenistan on Wednesday, March 20. Cotton growers from the Ahal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary regions joined the mass campaign. In the Dashoguz region, sowing will begin in a week, on March 27.
Among the agricultural machinery from the world's leading manufacturers, tractors with a telematic system were also brought to the fields, since precision farming has become a trend in Turkmen agriculture. In the news release of the National State Television and Radio, they noted that local conditions have been created for round-the-clock service maintenance of equipment, work and proper rest for machine operators and other participants in the sowing season.
Biological laboratories have also been prepared that will provide farmers with products to protect cotton from natural pests.
Seeds of such medium-fiber varieties as Ýolöten-7, Ýolöten-39, Jeýhun, S- 2606, Daşoguz-120, Daşoguz-114, Gubadag-3, 149-F have been prepared for sowing. The sowing of fine-fiber cotton varieties, such as Ýolöten-14, is carried out in the Ahal and Mary regions.
