Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, during a working visit to Tokyo at the head of the Turkmen delegation from December 21 to 24, held a number of bilateral meetings on Wednesday.

There was also a constructive exchange of views on priority joint projects in the gas chemical, transport and agricultural fields scheduled for implementation in Turkmenistan.
On the same day, Meredov held talks with Atsuo Kuroda, Executive Director of the Export and Investment Insurance Agency of Japan (NEXI), which provides insurance coverage for financing joint economic projects, and met with the president of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd." Tatsuya Watanabe, discussing with him the construction of a second plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas for by the order of the Turkmenchimiya Group of Companies.

At a meeting with Nobuhiko Sasaki, General Executive Director of the Japan Organization for the Development of Foreign Trade (JETRO), Rashid Meredov proposed to open a JETRO office in Turkmenistan to attract small and medium-sized Japanese enterprises to conduct business in the Turkmen market and vice versa, as well as to open a Trading house of Turkmenistan in Japan and consider organizing a trade mission of Japan in Turkmenistan.

The 14th meeting of the joint committee on economic cooperation will be held within the framework of the visit of the Turkmen delegation to Tokyo. In addition, Rashid Meredov will take part in the 9th meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Dialogue "Central Asia+Japan" and will hold meetings in the government, parliament, various departments of Japan and with the leadership of well-known companies.
