Russian cellist Alexei Vasilyev performed in Ashgabat

Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Rector of the St. Petersburg Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, cellist Alexei Vasilyev gave a concert in Ashgabat. He was accompanied at the chamber music evening, held at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater, by Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, pianist Vladimir Mkrtumov.

– We have been waiting for this day for a very long time. We have done everything for this concert to take place. It will continue a series of events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, our common Victory, representative of the Federal Agency Rossotrudnichestvo in Turkmenistan Yevgeniy Beloglazov said in his opening speech.

The musicians performed for the Ashgabat public the compositions of Ludwig van Beethoven, Alfred Schnittke and Sergei Rachmaninov. The duet of the Russian and Turkmen maestros touched the hearts of the audience, filling them with the unifying power of music.
