British Ambassador Presents Business Support Mechanisms as London Prepares a Reciprocal Visit to Turkmenistan
On 14 May, London hosted the fourth day of the UK–Turkmenistan B2B Trade Mission, jointly organised by the West London Chambers of Commerce and TurkmenExpo, with institutional support from the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United Kingdom.
Stephen Conlon, the British Ambassador to Turkmenistan, delivered a presentation to participants outlining the United Kingdom's current approach to advancing trade and economic relations with Turkmenistan. He devoted particular attention to the opportunities offered by UK Export Finance (UKEF), the United Kingdom's official export credit agency, which provides financial instruments to companies engaged in business with British partners.
Christopher Durkin, Chairman of the West London Chambers of Commerce, expressed his appreciation to all parties involved — the Turkmen and British participants, the organisers, and the partner institutions for their support and sustained engagement throughout the week. He also announced plans for a reciprocal initiative: a business mission of British companies to Turkmenistan, designed to build on the commercial relationships established in London and to inaugurate a new phase of bilateral cooperation.
