Italy Records First Case of Artificial Intelligence Addiction Treatment
The first official case of artificial intelligence addiction treatment has been recorded in Italy, according to SERD, Italy's national service for helping people with addictions.
According to medical professionals, the patient was a 20-year-old woman. She regularly and continuously interacted with a neural network service, gradually developing an emotional attachment to the system.
Over time, the artificial intelligence reportedly began to better adapt to her communication style, and she began to perceive it as a "safe companion" and "friend." This led to social isolation and a gradual distancing from her real-life environment.
The medical institution's chief physician, Laura Suardi, stated that this case was not unexpected by specialists.
She noted that the development of digital technologies and the widespread use of neural networks are creating the conditions for the development of new forms of psychological addiction.
