Japan's JICA Invited Turkmen Students to Take a Course in AI
The visit of a delegation from the International University of Humanities and Development (IUHD) to Japan yielded concrete technological results. A key outcome of the negotiations with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) was an initiative to provide Turkmen students with a free certified course in artificial intelligence.
At the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS), Vice-Rector Nurmuhammet Shikhliev discussed the development of academic mobility with his Japanese colleagues. Since 2017, 11 IUHD students have already studied in Japan, and the parties now intend to intensify joint research and the digitalization of the educational process.
The Global Japan Office, which has been coordinating cultural and educational projects in Ashgabat since 2016, remains an important point of interaction. The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Tokyo hosted meetings with Asia SEED and JICA, focusing on training personnel for the green economy and integrating high technologies into interdisciplinary programs.
The Japanese side confirmed its willingness to share its experience, which will create additional opportunities for professional growth for Turkmen youth in the fields of IT and sustainable development.
