New Siri powered by Google Gemini: Apple and Google prepare a 2026 revolution
The voice assistant Siri is set for the biggest upgrade in its history. Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian officially confirmed that the updated Siri, powered by Google Gemini, will be released in the second half of 2026. This partnership will make Apple’s assistant much smarter and more human-like.
The key innovation is the use of Gemini models to create a “personal” Siri. The assistant will not only execute commands but also engage in meaningful conversations, better understand context, and adapt to the habits of its iPhone owner.
Exact dates are still undisclosed, but experts expect the release to coincide with iOS 20 in autumn 2026. Earlier, development faced challenges related to the accuracy of neural network responses, which led to delays. However, both companies now confirm that the timeline remains on track and the project is in its final stage.
