Galkynyshgaz, a New Phase of Field Development Has Been Established in Turkmenistan
The meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, chaired by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on April 18, cemented the historic success of recent days. The fourth phase of development of the gigantic Galkynysh field received a powerful administrative boost: the head of state signed a decree establishing the state-owned enterprise Galkynyshgaz within the Turkmengas State Concern.
This decision follows yesterday's ceremony in the Yolotan district, where the drilling of new wells and the construction of gas processing facilities were launched with the participation of the National Leader of the Turkmen People and a high-ranking Chinese delegation.
The establishment of Galkynyshgaz is a strategic step to strengthen state control over the implementation of this megaproject. The new enterprise will become a single operations center that will undertake:
Contractor Coordination: Direct interaction with CNPC Amudarya Petroleum Company Ltd. throughout all stages of turnkey project design and construction.
Quality Control: Overseeing the construction of facilities with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters of marketable gas per year.
Future Management: Preparing the foundation for the subsequent operation of the facility, which will become a key element in the country's export strategy.
During the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the launch of the fourth phase of the Galkynysh field development is an event of historic significance. This is not simply a new industrial milestone, but a confirmation of the unwavering commitment to the profound modernization of the fuel and energy sector and the expansion of international partnerships.
Presenting the draft resolution, Deputy Prime Minister Guvanch Agajanov noted that the creation of a specialized enterprise will ensure meticulous precision in fulfilling the objectives set by the National Leader and the head of state. For the country's oil and gas industry, this signifies a transition to more complex and effective models for managing large investment projects.
The establishment of Galkynyshgaz, following the ceremonial launch of Phase 4 at the field, demonstrates the exceptional dynamism of public administration in Turkmenistan.
