Turkmenistan was elected to the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development

On April 8, 2026, at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York, Turkmenistan was elected by acclamation to the Commission on Science and Technology for Development.
The election took place during a meeting of the subsidiary bodies of the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
According to the adopted decision, Turkmenistan will serve as a member of the Commission from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2030.
Participation in the Commission provides countries with an opportunity to contribute to shaping the global agenda in the fields of science and technological development, innovation, and sustainable growth.
