Turkmenpost Enters Global Marketplaces Through IPS Integration
ORIENT | March 28. Turkmenistan's national postal service is becoming a fully-fledged link in global e-commerce. Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Annayev reported at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on the progress of Turkmenpost's accession to the Universal Postal Union's (IPS) digital system.
Integration into the IPS system is more than just a software update. It is a strategic step that changes the rules of the game for the national logistics operator. This means global tracking: postal shipments from and to Turkmenistan will now be fully transparent throughout their entire journey through a single international standard.
The IPS system allows Turkmenpost to establish direct technical interaction with the world's largest e-commerce platforms. Optimizing supply chains will reduce delivery times and increase the trust of international partners in the Turkmen postal service.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, approving the report, emphasized that the development of modern logistics infrastructure is an integral part of the country's digital economy. The head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to maintain the pace of communications modernization, making postal transactions as fast and convenient as possible for citizens and businesses.
For ordinary users and small businesses in Turkmenistan, this means simplified cross-border trade. When Turkmenpost speaks the same "digital language" as the Universal Postal Union, barriers to entry into the global parcel market disappear. This effectively turns every post office into an access point to the global goods market.
