Cultural event was held in Tajikistan on the occasion of the International Nowruz Holiday
On March 26, 2026, at Secondary General Education School No. 8 named after Magtymguly Pyragy, located in the Ergesh Sultanov Dehkan Union of the Dusti District, Khatlon Region, Republic of Tajikistan, and serving as a symbol of Turkmen-Tajik friendship, a ceremonial cultural event and exhibition were held in honor of the International Nowruz Holiday.
The event was attended by representatives of the Turkmen Culture Society of Tajikistan, the Tajik Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Tajikistan, local authorities, community representatives, teachers, journalists, and students of the school.
Welcome speeches were delivered by the Deputy Chairman of the Dusti District of Khatlon Region Shamsiddin Mirzosafarzoda, Ambassador of Turkmenistan A. Gochmyradov, Head of the Tajik-Turkmen Direction of the Tajik Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations Mirzo Shokhrukh Asrori, Head of the Turkmen Culture Society of Tajikistan Dovran Gayypnazarov, as well as respected representatives of the Turkmen community Alty Bekmyradov, Shanazar Annaev, and Gulnara Avazova.
In their speeches, they expressed sincere gratitude to the heads of the two states – Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan – as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, for their continued attention to the further development of deep strategic partnership between the two countries and strengthening fraternal relations. It was especially noted that the school, bearing the name of Magtymguly on Tajik soil, serves as a vivid symbol of friendship between the two brotherly states.
The program also included musical performances by schoolchildren and a thematic exhibition organized jointly with the Embassy of Turkmenistan, showcasing Turkmen women’s national jewelry, handmade carpets, examples of national embroidery, as well as a photo exhibition of Ahalteke horses. A special place in the exhibition was given to the books of Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Participants emphasized that holding such events contributes to the further strengthening of friendship and the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
