Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov presented a comprehensive plan to expand cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on March 20. The cooperation, which began in 1992 and already includes more than 80 completed projects, is entering a new planning phase.

A central element of this work will be a new strategy for Turkmenistan's partnership with the EBRD for the period 2026–2030. The document is intended to create a reliable foundation for attracting long-term capital investment in both public infrastructure projects and private sector development. To finalize the strategy, it is proposed to create a special working committee of representatives from the country's financial and economic sectors.

Transport and logistics occupy a special place on the agenda. Specifically, the bank's resources are being sought for the construction and large-scale reconstruction of key railway and highway routes. These initiatives are planned to be implemented in close coordination with the European "Global Gateway" strategy, which will allow Turkmenistan to more actively integrate into transcontinental transport corridors.

In the coming months, relevant agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Central Bank, and the Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs, will prepare a detailed work plan to implement these ambitious goals.
