Tour of the Turkmen State Circus artists was opened in Baku
The opening of the tour of artists from the Turkmen State Circus took place in Baku at the Circus Sea Breeze arena. The legendary group Galkynysh presented the large-scale circus show “Oriental Circus,” Trend Life reports.
At the opening ceremony, Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Gurbanmammet Elyasov, emphasized the high level of brotherly relations between the two countries. He noted that the project has become another bridge between the peoples and a vivid symbol of cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
The audience witnessed a truly spectacular performance: flawless synchronization of riders, complex acrobatic tricks performed on horseback, powerful dynamics, and the highest level of artistry.
Virtuoso acrobatic acts and sophisticated equestrian elements highlighted the ensemble’s professionalism and the long-standing traditions of the Turkmen school of equestrian art.
The “Oriental Circus” program also featured performances by international-level acrobats, artists of various genres, clowns, as well as colorful acts involving dogs and monkeys. Each performance stood out for its scale, dynamism, and the atmosphere of a true circus celebration. The audience warmly welcomed the show, accompanying the performances with enthusiastic applause.
The culmination of the evening was the ceremonial appearance of riders carrying the national flags of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, symbolically emphasizing the brotherly relations and strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two states.
More than 400 guests attended the performance, including representatives of government institutions and the diplomatic corps. The organizer of the project, holder of the highest circus award Allahverdi Israfilov, noted that circus art is not only entertainment but also an important cultural and educational tool that supports the younger generation. A special promotion is being held for the Nowruz holiday, along with a social initiative for schoolchildren and teachers.
The show runs from March 14 to March 30.
